​1.5 Progression
We progress and evolve towards greater spiritual awareness by raising ourselves above ordinary activities and priorities and, as we measure up to life’s challenges, we must take on the struggle and be victorious. On our own merit we must learn how to secure ourselves from harm and hunger, avoiding any version of slavery, despair and unhappiness.

Also, we need to feel into the depth of our true desire – not that driven by hormones or imposed belief, but more wholesomely, by the voice of the soul. Then our life can become richer and more abundant, and we inevitably share this with others and discover how to enjoy the benefits of synergy.

Hidden within, sleeps a world of great potential to which we can give birth, but only if we feel its sacredness and importance. It requires sacrifice to enact the soul's desire, yet this eventually leads to unimagined contentment.

We cannot know what lies within us until we listen carefully to the subtle clues – as obscure and ephemeral as a pattern the wind has created out of leaves. We become creative in order to achieve our potential, finding innovative ways to move forward, often guided by obscure spiritual forces.

This leads to an attitude of mind, the discipline of optimism. We must train ourselves both to expect good things, and to see the good in everything we meet. We only ever encounter externally that which is held within, therefore we allow the heart and mind only to dwell on happiness and peace. Happiness must be an inner state or it is neither real nor lasting. If we understand this then we have progressed to a creditable level of soul evolution.
