Sabian Symbols: A train entering a tunnel
This universal idea is best expressed through planets in
Aquarius 14 (13° - 14°)
Obstacles and difficulties are certain on the road to achievement;
we must cut through them
"Cutting through obstacles"
Most people cruise along reluctantly accepting their lot because it could be worse and it’s not totally insufferable. Some others push with all their might in the wrong direction lost and blinded by the false wisdom that the concomitants of happiness are fame and fortune. Some are spiritually oriented and slowly move towards what they want to believe in without much intellectual evidence or discrimination applied to the belief they chose and whether that idealistic belief is in fact workable. Those remaining few, who are able to penetrate through the veil and learn the mystery, open up the ability to exert a special influence and achieve remarkable outcomes.
A TRAIN ENTERING A TUNNEL
A train entering a tunnel
Normal everyday life can lead us to exciting visionary outcomes
A train enters a tunnel – this is what it is meant to do. It can be seen either as an uninspired conformity to limitation, or the courtesy of adherence to expectations. A typical person approaches an invisible future by following the track laid down by parents and more general influences, which to some may seem constraining and deterministic – yet to others it is both helpful and appropriate guidance towards proper societal integration.
Normal acceptable behaviour leads to the performance of our community duty – by providing whatever services we have agreed to take responsibility for.
Courteous participation in the more impersonal relationships we have with other community members shows of our normal, basic generosity of human personality.
Our eagerness for new experiences expresses through expanding our social life and responsibilities, and we need look no further than the straightforward track of work, home and friends to find satisfaction.
The civility is justified not from any spirit of altruism; it acts through these voluntary social involvements because the consequential refinement that occurs is as much for our own benefit as for others.
Our skills and talents can only ever be sharpened and become fit for purpose by actual employment. Our readiness to share them leads towards their perfection, and therefore increases our ability to improve outcomes of our own vision as well as the community’s.
Our ability to meet the most exacting of demands in life – with all its various challenges and potentials – grows as we enter tunnels of uncertainty trusting in our gift of mutual courtesy. It is a gift we so deeply treasure and it comes about primarily through service to others.

Commentary from Richard Grey
No - the train | the tunnel | obstacles | the road to (achievement) | uninspired conformity to limitation | constraining | deterministic
Hello - societal | social involvements
Thanks - integration
Goodbye - the act of entering | cutting through | adherence to expectations
Please - achievement | visionary outcomes | courteous participation
Sorry - responsibility | consequential refinement | fit for purpose
Yes - reluctantly accepting | eagerness for new experiences | trusting
This could be about Sorry or Goodbye - considering (constantly questioning) whether what we are doing is working (S) - and whether we want to do it - then deciding to change (G) things that aren't working (for ourselves or others). What comes first? Sorry! Without Sorry (the constant questioning) there would not be Goodbye.
